With the upcoming release of a new album, Cage the Elephant sets out on a massive trek that will have them in a different city every two days! With 45 shows to cover, you can only imagine how fully packed their schedules would be. But this development comes as welcoming news by loyal fans across the U.S. – They practically spent the year 2023 in the studio for the Neon Pill. This summer, Cage the Elephant is ready to take on the road like the touring veterans that they are, and they’re making a much-awaited stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico!
Fans can look forward to the band’s high energy as they deliver a myriad of new songs from their forthcoming album. The surefire star of the night will be their brand new single, “Out Loud,” which is a significant piece for frontman Matthew Ray Shultz. In an interview, the singer explained, “‘Out Loud’ is very connected to my father. My dad’s the reason we discovered music in the first place. When he died, ‘Out Loud’ just poured out of me. My efforts towards the song were deeply rooted in paying honor to him, and I knew it meant a lot to Brad, too.” Brothers Matth and Brad Shultz are found members of Cage the Elephant, along with bassist Daniel Technor and drummer Jared Champion.
For their show at the Isleta Amphitheater, Cage the Elephant brings along special guests Young the Giant and Bakar. California-bred quintet Young the Giant is slated to feature career-spanning hits, including songs from their self-titled debut effort all the way to their latest album, American Bollywood. The band basically rose to prominence in 2011 after dropping their highly-acclaimed hits, “My Body” and “Cough Syrup,” spawned from their self-titled debut effort. The singles later earned platinum status in the U.S. after garnering massive amounts of sales and streams.
One of the fastest-rising stars in the indie rock circuit, Bakar will also be delivering his most iconic staples. In 2017, he released his debut single, “Big Dreams,” spawned from this debut album, Badkid. Two years later, he released the viral hit single, “Hell n Back,” from his debut EP, Will You Be My Yellow? The platinum-selling song entered four Billboard charts, including topping the Adult Alternative Airplay chart.
