Headliner

Pantera

Pantera is a groove and power metal band from Texas, America. Formed in 1981 by the Abbott brothers, guitarist Dimebag Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul and later joined by vocalist Phil Anselmo, and bassist Rex Brown. The band originally started as a glam rock band with little success, even after releasing three studio albums. It wasn’t until 1986, however, that Pantera found its groove with a new sound thanks to then-eighteen-year-old Phil Anselmo when he joined the band as the new vocalist. Pantera’s fourth studio album “Power Metal” released in 1988, showcased the band’s new take on glam rock and groove metal as well as a shift into their overall image.

Pantera’s fifth album “Cowboys from Hell” released in 1990, brought forth the official new sound for Pantera that’s heavy and placed the groove metal subgenre in high popularity. The album became so monumental and fundamental to the band that they consider “Cowboy from Hell” to be Pantera’s official debut album.

Pantera went on to release four other studio albums before the disbandment in 2004, caused by conflicts between band members and the tragic death of guitarist Dimebag Darrell, putting a firm pause on the band’s future albums and tours.

Current Members

In 2022, Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown announced Pantera’ reunion for their first major tour in 22 years. The duo announced Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante would be joining them on the tour as fill-ins on the Guitar and Drums.

Special Guest

Amon Amarth

Amon Amarth is a Swedish death metal band, formed in 1992. They have released 12 studio albums to date with 2006’s “With Oden On Our Side” and 2008’s “Twilight Of The Thunder God” gaining them their major breakthrough and popularity. The band’s name may be familiar to fans of J. R. R. Tolkien's fantastical Lord Of the Rings, as it is the Sindarin name of Middle-earth’s Mount Doom. Amon Amarth uses Viking mythology in their lyrics, which is referred to as “Viking Metal.” However, the band prefers to be referred to as melodic death metal.
