Isleta Amphitheater Information
Isleta Amphitheater is an outdoor music venue located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As part of the Live Nation family of entertainment venues, it is a thrilling venue that hosts many top-notch concerts, tour dates, special events, and live shows per year. And to date, it continues to be one of the hottest outdoor venues in New Mexico.
History
The venue first opened in February 2000 as the Mesa del Sol Amphitheater. At the time, it was part of Mesa del Sol, a planned community that is currently still under development in the city of Albuquerque. The venue served the community under that name until December 2000 when it was announced that the Albuquerque Journal purchased naming rights. After that, the venue came to be known as ABQ Journal Pavilion (known locally as Journal Pavilion).
The venue remained a popular live entertainment destination for music fans and top bands and musicians alike over the 2000s, which may have led to the 2009 concert season. During this season, the lawn area was expanded increasing the expected capacity from 12,000 to a stunning 15,000. And arguably, this was the moment that the venue’s fame kicked into high gear.
After this, in March 2010, Hard Rock Hotel and CAsino Albuquerque purchased naming rights. From then, the venue was known as The Pavilion. From then, the venue continued to win fans with hard hitting concerts, festivals, and tour dates. Earning it prestige among music venue critics and rave reviews from fans across social media and review sites.
Finally, in 2013, the venue changed its name once again to Isleta Amphitheatre, which is a name its kept to this day at the time of writing.
